The billing of burst-type instances is divided into two parts: instance billing and credit billing, and instances may incur credit charges when they are turned on without performance constraint mode.
Burst instances in unconstrained mode will not be limited in performance by CPU Mileage, and after the credit balance is depleted, advance credits and excess credits can be used to keep the instance running at a higher CPU usage than the Beanchmark Performance. Excess credits are generated and must be repaid by the next full point, and the system will settle the excess credits at the full point; advance credits are only settled when instances are provisioned, performance modes are resized, or deleted, and no additional fees are paid as long as they are repaid before such operations are performed.
