Modify Disk Drive in Windows

Windows 2008 System:

  1. Right click Computer in the Start menu, and click Management in the pop-up menu

  1. In the Computer Management interface, click Disk Management under Storage, right click the computer system partition to be changed, and select Change Drive Number and Path in the pop-up menu.

  1. Click Change in the Change Drive Number and Path dialog box. If you do not find the desired drive in the pull-down menu, please check if there are other disks or CD drivers in the system that used the drive.

  1. If the disk to be changed is being used by the system, the modification can only take effect after the server restart. You can restart the server during the low peak period to make the configuration take effect.

Windows 2012 System:

  1. Right click in the lower left corner and select Disk Management.

  1. Right click the computer system partition to be changed and select Change Drive Number and Path from the pop-up menu.

  1. Click Change in the Change Drive Number and Path dialog box. If you do not find the desired drive in the pull-down menu, please check if there are other disks or CD drivers in the system that used the drive.

  1. If the disk to be changed is being used by the system, the modification can only take effect after the server restart. You can restart the server during the low peak period to make the configuration take effect.
