Windows remote reporting credentials not working

Problem phenomenon:

The "Credentials Do Not Work" error as shown in the diagram below appears when connecting to a Windows virtual machine via Remote Desktop. But the login is normal when using the virtual machine console to remotely connect to the vnc. As shown in the figure:

Problem causes

The problem is usually caused by the [Password Protected Sharing] feature being enabled internally on the system.

Solution:

Open Control Panel → All Control Panel Items → Network and Sharing Center → Advanced Sharing Settings, and then select [Turn off password-protected sharing] under the [Password-protected sharing] feature as shown in the figure below:
